So many people talk about the “Law of Attraction” and “Cosmic Ordering” but are these just buzz words for praying, and having faith that you are protected, and knowing that you deserve to be happy and loved. I have had many experiences of answered prayers that go back to a time before these phrases were ever invented. I believe there is a higher force and regardless of religion, I think if you ask and have total faith and belief in what you are asking for you will get it. As long as your request will not cause harm to another, or yourself.
I want to share one of my experiences (I have had a number of them), of asking for something I needed and receiving it almost immediately. When I was 18 years old, I left school, with a huge chip on my shoulder and a bad attitude. I got a job in a bank. It was the worst year in my life psychologically and emotionally speaking. Everything that had happened to me over the past 18 years came to the surface, I was so insecure in myself and extremely depressed. Now I have never been one to eat too much or starve myself when I am depressed, I tend to spend money on material items in the hope that they will somehow make me happy.
So there I was 18 years old and angry at the world and on my own. So I shopped and shopped, “Maybe if I got this dress / skirt or top I will be happy, maybe people will like me etc etc....” The thrill was amazing, I was completely addicted. I had clothes I would never wear and cars I could not afford, the list goes on. I was on such a high after buying things I felt so mature, so important, so special. But just like any other addiction, came the crash of reality, when the “stuff” didn’t help, I figured I had the wrong “stuff” and went out and bought more.
Eventually it caught up with me. I got to a stage where I had a lot of debt and literally no cash apart from a few dollars in my purse.
It was a Thursday evening; I knew that Monday was the crunch day. I had nearly $15000 worth of debt, which was a lot for in 1990 for someone who had just turned 18 a few months before and hated their job, and their life. I had not been able to make any loan repayments for several months and I knew that if I did not make a payment of about $650 (that was 3 weeks pay for me in 1990) by Monday, I would be getting a visit from the “heavies”.
That evening I went to bed I prayed so hard, and remember this was 1990, nobody had heard of “The Law of Attraction”, or “Cosmic Ordering”. With a tight feeling in my throat and desperation in my voice, my prayer went like this.... I kid you not; these are the exact words I used...”Please Lord let some money fall into my hands, somehow”
The following Saturday I did something I did not normally do, I bought a lotto ticket. I didn’t win 1st division, if I had all my debts paid off at once, where would the cosmic lesson about debt be in that? However, I did win $680, enough to stop the debt collectors knocking on my door, and bus fare to work for the following week. I was so happy it was a miracle. The times I have played lotto since I can count on one hand, so I truly believe that going into that lotto shop on Saturday was inspired, as a way of answering my prayer.
I am not saying “Cosmic Ordering” and “The Law of Attraction” are not real. In fact, they are spot on. I think this channelled wisdom is just a way of spreading a message that some of us have always been aware of, that is, that you deserve to be happy, you are protected and that there is help and guidance available to you if you just ask. Therefore if you find yourself in a in a troublesome situation, even if it is of your own making, ask for what you need. It does not matter if you go to church regularly or not, you just need to have faith that you are loved and protected, and nobody is judging you.
